24 weeks and counting

So things are just rolling along right now with the pregnancy. Last Saturday was our monthly check up at 9:15 am...this was after I got back in from KC at 10:45 PM and we had a 45 minute drive ahead of us. Got as much sleep as I could, but had to take a nap by the afternoon.

The appointment went well. It was the busiest we had seen our OB office the entire time we have been going; we actually had to wait in the waiting room, which was a first. This appointment was with the third of all three doctors we have to see before the big day. All three have been very nice, but we are hoping that the first doctor we saw, and the one we've seen more often than the others, is on call the day "Sven" decides to make his grand entrance into the world.

So this last appointment was more of a box-checking exercise: Pee in a cup, get blood pressure and weight (all of which are right on track). Any concerns? How are you feeling? Heartbeat sounds good. Schedule you next appointment and make sure to do the glucose screening at the same time.

Today I'm 24 weeks and someone turned the thermostat up on Lake County...the Jetta thermometer read 98 as we drove through Libertyville. Needless to say, that is HOT!! Especially when it was in the 60's yesterday. We went and got ice cream and then came home very thankful for air conditioning! So here we sit, trying to stay cool. Not a good omen for the heat of summer in July and August. Ice Water will continue to be my best friend I'm sure.
