Meltdowns Do Happen....

Easter started week 17 for "SvenOlga". Yes, this is the affectionate name that my Dad came up with, since we don't know if it's a "Sven" or an "Olga"...hence SvenOlga. I'm sure either way it will end up being a great story to tell on an 18th birthday. But leading up to Easter Ronnie was able to experience the first full-fledged hormonal meltdown. Some may already know that our dog Marley has many nicknames, one being the French Panty-monger. This is to say that if you have any underwear that is within reach, he will try and get it. Warnings are given to those who stay at our house; our dog has no manners.

The weekend before Ronnie had wonderfully taken me to Victoria's Secret so that I could buy panties in a larger size. Oh what heaven to not have elastic cutting into my legs anymore! Then only a day or two later Ronnie and I got home after running errands, and I had not put the hamper out of Marley's reach. I'm sure you can see where this is going....

The French Panty-monger had SHREDDED a new pair of panties, my new found comfort. I scolded Marley, grabbed the bits of fabric that once resembled a VS hipster and proceeded downstairs to tell Ronnie what a bad dog HE had. Then went on and on about how he can't personify the dog, because after all...he's a dog. Who knows what else was said, frankly I should be glad I don't remember, and then while throwing the destroyed panties in the garbage I burst into tears and couldn't stop crying. While Ronnie was right, they were just a $5 pair and he would gladly go out and buy me more, it didn't make sense, nor help matters, at the time.

Thankfully, we all managed to survive the first of many meltdowns.

We also took our first belly picture on Easter weekend. More for the fact that I wanted a picture done every couple of weeks now, just to see the difference in how it's growing. I didn't want months to go by, and then regret not getting photos done while we had the opportunity. After all, this won't happen again for another couple of years.

So here is a picture of me and SvenOlga at 17 weeks. Not a whole lot to see, but I'm sure that will change quickly enough. Please note that the dolphin has not turned into a beluga whale, and my jeans are still buttoned.

  1. Oh SvenOlga you look so cute! Uncle Jake thinks you should stick to the name after the birth.
