So much has happened in the last month that I feel I need to hit on the highlights, and just to a pictorial session. But bare with me if this is a long entry. :)
Developmentally there have been so many new things happening. On December 15th Landon rolled from his back to his side; so we knew that the rolling would soon follow. The next week he rolled from his tummy to his back, twice! Ronnie and I were both sitting right there when it happened, and of course, I just started clapping and laughing and praising Landon for the big boy he is. Then he decided that it wasn't as fun as he thought it was going to be, and didn't do it again until just today when he started rolling from his back to his tummy. This he is finding very interesting and continues to flip and look around...a little surprised that it happened, but happy at the same time. In mid-December he also started blowing spit bubbles and becoming much more vocal. Now he's my little chatter box; talking to Marley, the mobile, the shadow on the wall...anything that will "listen" to him.
The weekend before Christmas we were up in Milwaukee for Alayna Eoff's baptism (Ronnie's Goddaughter). Because it was during Lent, the baptism took place after the church service; which made for a really special time for the family and friends that were there. Of course it was my son who let one rip during one of the prayers, and I think everyone heard except for Bre. Yes, my son... the prayer farter. Then on the 23rd the Eoff's came down to our house for dinner, which was nice to have an opportunity to actually sit down and visit. Denise has an adorable picture of Ronnie holding both Alayna and Landon. Alayna is reaching over to grab Landon...she's a girl who knows what she wants! I'll post that one as soon as I get a copy. :)
Landon's first Christmas was spent with Lee & Denise (Ronnie's parents). We went to the Christmas Eve service at church, and it was Landon's first time to Promiseland; the area for infants - 5 year olds. He was still awake when went to pick him up (tired but awake), and was smiling the whole time we were told.
Santa even made a special personal appearance just to see Landon on his first Christmas.
It was such a great visit, where we all got to sit down and eat together, play many games of cribbage and be entertained by Landon. We all had a wonderful time and had two days to get ready for the next set of visitors, my parents came out for the New Year. They landed around noon on New Years Eve, and we rang in the New Year with New York and went to bed! Grandpa started teaching Landon how to play cribbage (you can never start too young you know) and 2011 did not start out well for the cribbage skills of the mother/daughter team.
On the 3rd Landon had his 4 month check up. He clocked in at 17 pounds and 26 inches long! I couldn't believe it, but we forgot to get our picture of him on the scale. The 4 injections were not tolerated as well this time, and he was a fussy boy for most of the day. With the 4 month check up came instructions for starting solid foods. That meant shopping for Mom and Grandma to get the highchair. Not only does Landon love his highchair, but he loved his first meal of cereal on the 8th!
Landon absolutely loves the cereal (from proof of his first meal with it) and now eats 2 - 3 tablespoons twice a day. This weekend we move onto Brown Rice Cereal, followed by the whole cereal spectrum, and then onto veggies!
Well, the little man is awake again and asking for lunch. Have a great day!
