So I realized that my last post was also the day that we found out Landon was in a breech presentation, and it seemed that time got away from me to make any posts...and then life really changed.
Here's was happened the last month. On August 28th we found out that our little bundle of joy was most likely never head down the last couple of weeks, but sitting breech instead. We then had to jump from the awe and wonder of pregnancy to the practical planning side of things as we had to figure out what to do. Rather than just hope and pray that he righted himself into a head down position, we set our c-section date for Tuesday September 7th. The plan was that on Friday the 3rd we would have another ultrasound, and if Landon was head down we would induce right away, if he was still breech we would proceed with the c-section the following Tuesday.
I went to a chiropractor twice that week to have the Webster Technique of adjustment done; which aids in allignment of the pelvis and supporting ligaments to help a breech baby turn. Landon wasn't having it though, and stayed put. On the 3rd we went for our 12:45 appointment, and since Dr. Jacobson delayed getting back from the hospital we had the ultrasound technician look to see if Landon was still breech. She put the wand to my belly for a second, and said "we have paperwork to fill out" which meant that he was still breech and she had to record everything. What we didn't expect was for her to ask how soon I was ready to be done being pregnant. We laughed and said that the c-section was scheduled for Tuesday, to which she replied "I don't think you are going to be making it to Tuesday". What she was seeing on the images was that the amniotic fluid was low.
We met with Dr. Jacobson after the ultrasound, and we were to be back at the hospital that afternoon at 4pm for a 6pm c-section. WOW! Okay...into overdrive...drop Ronnie back off at work for a 2pm meeting, he needs to be home by 3:30. Call Central Bark on the way home and get Marley scheduled to board, get home, get Marley's things together and drive him to Central Bark. Bags were already packed and in the trunk of the car; so make the bed, straighten the house, make more phone calls. Run around like a chicken with my head cut off for 90 minutes until Ronnie gets home and we head off for the hospital; after he unloads the dishwasher of course.
Get to the hospital at 4:00 on the dot, and tell the reception desk ladies that I'm there to have my baby. They laughed and said that I must be the most cheerful pregnant lady coming into deliver that they've seen. Upstairs and off to triage to be prepped. It was the longest 2+ hours and the shortest all at the same time. Everyone was fantastic. Here are a few pictures from the delivery and recovery:
